    How we handle your personal data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

    2. What we collect

    • Enquiry data: name, email, phone, postcode, service interest and any project details you submit through our contact form.
    • Communications: emails, call notes and quotation correspondence.
    • Technical data: IP address, device type and pages visited, collected via standard server logs and analytics cookies.

    3. Lawful basis

    We process enquiry data on the basis of consent (you submitted the form) and, once a quote is issued, on the basis of contract (steps required at your request prior to entering a contract). Server logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest for security and site performance.

    4. How we use your data

    • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a survey.
    • To prepare and issue a written quotation.
    • To deliver any installation work you instruct and provide aftercare.
    • To keep records required by HMRC, Building Regs notification (Certass) and our insurer.

    We do not sell your data, we do not share it with third-party marketers, and we do not use it for cold calling.

    5. Sharing

    We share data only with: our CRM provider for enquiry handling; Certass for Building Regs notification on completed installs; HMRC and our accountant for invoicing; and our insurer if a claim arises. All processors are bound by UK GDPR-compliant agreements.

    6. Retention

    Enquiry data not converted to a quote: 12 months. Quotation data: 6 years (HMRC). Installation records: 10 years (workmanship guarantee period).

    7. Cookies

    This site uses strictly necessary cookies for security and site function, and may use anonymised analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand page usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

    8. Your UK GDPR rights

    You have the right to: access your data, rectify inaccurate data, erase your data, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability. Email info@bifoldsdirectessex.co.uk to exercise any of these rights — we respond within one calendar month.

    9. Complaints

    If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please email us first so we can put it right. You have the right to escalate to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, by phone on 0303 123 1113, or by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
